I am an Oregon native - Born in Stayton, raised in Pendleton and I joke that I didn’t begin to grow up until I moved to Portland at age 21. A move I made with one intent - to sell my scenic photographs.
I received bad advice in my teens to “Never turn your hobby into a career ... then you’ll have to do it and hate it.” Sadly I believed that nonsense until I was 31, when I cashed in my Fred Meyer 401k to open a portrait studio in ‘96 called Prints Charming Photography (now Studio B Photography www.StudioBpdx.com) I reasoned that if my focus was on people, my hobby would be safe.
